The Last 12 months have included the following work:

Study for client interested in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and in understanding how patient’s progress through treatment. Specifically interested in developing insight into what medications patients are started on for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer and how the treatment pathway evolves based upon the initial medication of choice. Also interested in gaining insight into length of therapy, treatment holidays, treatment cycles, switching and discontinuation. In addition to the understanding the general treatment flows, client is interested in gaining more specific insight into the profile of the patients on their product versus competitive products.
Market analysis of physicians prescribing certain Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
Project for client interested in understanding the persistency and compliance of patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.
Did initial work for a client interested in decomposing product forecasts by various diseases/indications, as it is presently indicated for patients with recent heart attack, recent stroke, established peripheral arterial disease, or acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
Study for a client that markets a inhibitor of ADP-induced platelet aggregation which is indicated for the treatment of a variety of conditions including Acute Coronary Syndrome, Stroke, PAD and MI. Client is interested in tracking the launch by indication to identify the types of patients that are receiving the drug and how the launch is impacting competitive products across the various indications for which it is approved.
Fraud and Abuse study into physicians gaming the claims processing to avoid payment reduction because of same patient same day rules. Discovered doctors were using methods, deliberate or otherwise, including splitting patients across days and between paper and electronic channels.
Developed an inverted multi-tiered member matching algorithm to match people across various systems using inconsistent and widely varying data points
Developed a predictive model for a professional fund raising organization. Particularly challenging because the client, although very good at what they did do, was not very sophisticated in analytics. However, I was able to dig into their operational data, develop a model, implement the scoring, and present the results to management in an understandable manner.

Negotiating favorable terms in the acquisition, disposition, and the leasing of property. Ability to hire, supervise, and fire both workers and contracted help. Astuteness in real estate law, landlord tenant law, mortgage banking, property maintenance, and real estate finance. Thorough understanding of, and the ability to positively expropriate from, the Federal, State, and local income and property tax environments.

Diversified Pharmaceutical Services (DPS -now Express Scripts) Pharmacoeconomic & Outcomes Research

DPS is a drug benefit management company with services that cover over twenty-five million people. Research Systems Analyst Provided data management, software development/engineering and comprehensive analysis for pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research projects. Information from these studies was used in numerous applications including: development of new care management products, enhancement of drug formulary decisions, Disease Management, and support of SmithKline Beecham product development. Position existed in United HealthCare’s Center for Health Care Policy & Evaluation until May 1994 when it was transferred to United HealthCare’s DPS specialty company. That same day DPS and it’s 600+ employees were sold to SmithKline Beecham PLG (was the worlds 4^th largest drug company) for 2.3 Billion dollars.

Northwest Airlines Inc.

Manager Line Planning and Analysis - Technical Operations, Line Maintenance - Position was a hybrid of Business and Automation Management. Produced ‘Operations Business Report’ to identify specific problems and where possible recommend corrective action to the Vice President and his direct reports. Created TOIL system that put a data warehouse at the fingertips of Line Managers throughout the nation and world.
Project Management Analyst - Technical Operations, Systems and Automation - Designed, financially justified, and developed new, or enhanced existing, computer systems and applications specific to the business needs of Technical Operations. Performed system analysis and design. Served as technical liaison between Technical Operations, IS, and other NW divisions, outside vendors, and other airlines. Evaluated new mainframe, PC, and distributed software and hardware. Provided technical support and training. Generated routine and ad-hoc database extract and statistical reports. Involved from initial defining of user requirements through final testing and implementation with ongoing support and maintenance.
Yield Management Analyst - Marketing Planning - Primary responsibility was maximizing flight departure revenue by allocating an ideal seat compartment mix. Involved detailed analysis of all available data and market conditions with the subsequent forecasting, strategic implementation and maintenance of an ultimate seat allocation. Responsible for more than $480,000 in daily passenger revenue.
